Hidden in a german press release about a now ended german community contest, dtp / Anaconda today revealed, that Drakensang has been delayed from Q1 to Q2 2008. This means only the german release date, since Anaconda didn't announce a release date for the english market, yet. But it seems likely, that an english version will debut after the german release.

Gaming website GamerNode has some thoughts up about Drakensang, based on their impressions from GC Leipzig:
So far it all looks decent to good, but the real question of quality depends on something we can't take a closer look at yet: the dialogue, the storyline, the quests. If these live up to the promised high standards, this game will be one to watch, if these don't, the whole game will be somewhat forgettable as the rest offers nothing new or special.
But for us, the English-speaking market, we also have to wait until they announce a publisher for NA and the rest of Europe. It does not seem to be a high priority for the company, which automatically builds the fear that we'll have a terrible localisation, with bad voiceovers and annoying mistranslations.
This game is one too watch, but it's worth waiting to see how the above issues are dealt with before getting really interested. For those who just can't wait for an American (or English) release, the game is due out in Germany in Q1 2008.

And once more, an entry for our official Developer Diary. Today is little bit more technically, it's about camera control and the different camera modes that will be used in Drakensang. Author of this article is Andre Blechschmidt, co-owner and Technical Director at Radon Labs.

Thanks to Alrik Fassbauer we can present you a translation of the second german community interview. It is mainly about the aspects of character creation, some points might be difficult to understand if you're not familiar with TDE rule set. Best to keep in mind, that TDE 4 has a point-buy character system.
We also got 3 new screenshots today, you can find them in our gallery.
